Frequently Asked Questions - Beyond Reality Ozark Cabin1. WHAT ARE THE DETAILS ON BEDS AND BEDROOMS?The master bedroom is located
on the main floor and has a king-size bed. Upstairs, there is a
bedroom with twin single beds, and a double bed. Downstairs, there is bedroom with
a double bed. Also, there is an additional downstairs room that
has futon double bed. Bedding and linens are provided.
2. WHAT KITCHEN AND LAUNDRY APPLIANCES ARE AVAILABLE? The cabin includes a full size
refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave and dishwasher in the
kitchen. The laundry, on the main floor, includes a washer and a
dryer. There is a gas grill on the main floor porch.
3. WHAT BATHROOM FACILITIES ARE AVAILABLE? The main floor has a full
bathroom, including sink, toilet and bathtub. The upstairs
includes a full bathroom, including shower, toilet and sink. And
the downstairs includes a 1/2 bath, including a toilet and sink.
4. IS THE CABIN HEATED AND AIR-CONDITIONED YEAR-ROUND? Yes. The cabin fully heated
and has refrigerated air-conditioning. There is also a gas heater
that functions if there is a power outage. It looks like a cast
iron wood stove.
5. ARE TV, STEREO, AND INTERNET AVAILABLE? The cabin includes a television,
combination DVD-Video tape player and stereo and CD player with a variety of
CDs, DVDs and Video tapes available for your use and
enjoyment. We have satellite TV and wireless internet now.
6. HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL THE CABIN SLEEP? Eight (8) comfortably, as many as
ten (10).
7. WHEN IS CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT TIME? Check-in time is after 3:00 p.m.
and check-out time is no later than 11:00 a.m. We can make
special arrangements to accommodate you if needed.
8. IS THE KITCHEN FULLY EQUIPPED? Yes. We have all cooking
utensils, including pots and pans, baking dishes and serving bowls,
knives, plates, bowls, glasses and silverware, mixer, blender, drip
coffee maker, and a toaster. Salt and pepper and various spices, sugar,
vegetable oil, kitchen table. Kitchen table has an extra leaf for
larger groups, plus a picnic table on the porch.
9. DO YOU SUPPLY TOWELS, PAPER GOODS AND BED LINENS? Yes, we supply all bed linens,
pillows, blankets, towels, napkins, toilet paper and laundry soap for
the clothes washer, and dish soap for dishwasher.
10. WHAT SHOULD WE BRING WITH US? Your own groceries, clothes,
personal items, any alcohol you may want. Please note that Newton
County is a "dry" county and it is about an hour drive to the nearest
liquor store, so you may wish to pack beer, wine or liquor. A
good insect repellant, such as "Deep Woods Off", keeps away ticks and
chiggers and mosquitoes during warm months, especially if you are going
to be hiking in the woods.
11. WHERE IS THE NEAREST GROCERY? There is a small general store in
Parthenon, 6.5 miles away and a very good supermarket, Bobs in Jasper,
which is twelve (12) miles, twenty-five (25) minute drive away.
There are supermarkets and departments stores in Harrison, sixty (60)
minutes drive away.
12. WHERE IS THE CLOSEST
MEDICAL FACILITY?There
is a clinic in Jasper. There is a hospital in Harrison, 45
min. away. There is a phone book in the cabin with all medical
services and their numbers listed.
13. IS THERE CELL PHONE
RECEPTION?We have a telephone available in
the cabin. Cell phone reception is poor and you cannot always
get a signal. There is a fax machine in the cabin.
14. IS SMOKING ALLOWED?Please do not smoke inside the
cabin and smoke outside on the porches. Please dispose of all
cigarette butts.
15. IS THERE A FIREPLACE?No. But the gas stove looks
like a woodstove with burning logs in it.
16. CAN WE HAVE A CAMPFIRE?Yes, there is a fire pit and
plenty of firewood on hand. There is also a gas grill for
barbecuing on the porch.
17. IS HIKING, MOUNTAIN
BIKING AVAILABLE IN THE AREA?Yes. The cabin is a half
(1/2) miles from the Ozark National Forest and there are hiking trails
available in Buffalo National River and Ozark National Forest and
scenic areas nearby and, of course, you can hike around a twenty-five
(25) acres of woods at our cabin site.
18. CAN WE BRING
FOUR-WHEELERS AND OFF-ROAD MOTORCYCLES?No. In consideration of the
tranquility of the area and, therefore, do not want our guests to bring
four-wheelers or off-road motorcycles.
19. WHAT IS THE PROPERTY
SURROUNDING THE CABIN LIKE? The property includes
twenty-five (25) acres of mostly woods on a hillside.
The cabin is very private, being surrounded by woods. There are
views of the beautiful Murray Valley and surrounding hillsides.
