Alternate "Shortcut" Directions from Interstate 40 (I-40) to the Cabin
This is a shortcut if you are coming to the cabin from I-40 from the South, Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma or Southern Arkansas. We also have a map that shows the dirt road down to Murray Valley that is the shortcut. 4-wheel drive is not required for this road, but it is a little rougher ride than the longer route.
If driving East on I-40, take 3rd Clarksville exit (Hwy 103). Drive North on 103 until it T's, and go right on 64 about one mile, then go left on 21 North. Take 21 North to Fallsville, go right on 16 (also 21). Go to SWAIN and turn left on dirt road by HEARTSONG POTTERY. At a fork in the road, take the right fork down a long hill. The dirt road leads to Murray Valley. It will cross a low water slab that crosses the Little Buffalo River. The dirt road should take about 25 min. to the river slab. If it has rained more than 4 inches in the last 24 hours, the slab is not crossable. After the slab, bear right, you will pass Willis Park and a small community center on the right. Take the 2nd right in about 1/4 mile where there will be a row of 6 mailboxes on the left. Turn right and part way up the hill (1/8 mi.) , take the 1st driveway on the left into BEYOND REALITY.
If you decide to take an alternate route thru Jasper, which is about 45 min. longer, from SWAIN, take 16 to 7 into Jasper and follow our instructions from Jasper to the Cabin.
The manager, Linda Johnson is often home if you have questions about whether the slab is crossable or need help finding the Cabin. Her number is 870.446.5332.
